Who is Shang Chi?
Origin of Shang chi -:
Shang Chi was created by Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin with making his first appearance in ' Shang Chi Master of Kung Fu ' issue 15 in December of 1973 and this was also his origin story. Shang Chi's character was inspired by the great actor and martial arts artist Bruce Lee.
The story of Shang chi as per comic -:
Shang Chi was trained by his father( Fu Manchu )and his most trusted masters like a living weapon. Fu Manchu was a Chinese mastermind who has repeatedly attempted world conquest and had a thirst for blood. They trained Shang Chi for 19 years. After Shang Chi completed his training, his father sent him on a mission to kill Dr.Petrie, Fu Manchu calls him the evilest man alive.
Shang Chi thinks that killing people was an act of hate and disgust but he believes his father more than himself.
After he kills Dr.Petrie, he meets 'sir Dennies Nylund Smith', he said him that you've made a mistake, by killing an innocent man. Shang Chi told him "why are you crying for this evil man, how can you loved him so much".After that Dennis told him the truth about his father Fu-Manchu.
He tells Shang Chi that he knows his father since 1911, the man who can speak all the languages, a man who has command of three men of genius, also he is a Dark sorcerer and he is older than sir Dennis because Fu Manchu had found the oil of life which makes him immortal. Sir Dennis also tells him that he and Dr. Petrie tried to stop him many years ago.
After knowing all the darker sides of his father he visited his mother to confirm all the things that sir Dennis said to him.
Also, his mother confirms all the things that sir Dennis said.
Then Shang Chi meets his father, he confirms all the evil plans that he ever had.
But Fu Manchu doesn't think that his plan is evil. Shang Chi tells him,"when next time we meet it will be as implacable enemies".
After all those events, Shang Chi has also accepted avengers membership which was offered by Ironman and Captain America.
